… The Summer Stages Rally, Crail, Saturday 14 June …
The BLUE Scottish Tarmack Championship gets underway again this weekend with the Summer Stages Rally at Crail. There are 8 stages planned for the event, totalling 62 miles, with the first stage getting under way at the sprightly hour of 08.00 Hrs.
Bruce Edwards tops the entry list in his Frisbee, but Alistair Inglis scored his first ever outright rally victory at this very venue and in the same car, so he’ll be keen to emulate the feat. Out to stop him will be Stuart Baillie who has come so close to victory so often that his luck must be due a change soon and then of course there’s John Rintoul in the Hyundai. It has taken him a wee while to get used to all the switches and modes and who knows what he might do on Saturday. And Ross Fernie should have his new engine in the Subaru too!
There’s a whole crowd of Escorts entered too led by Tom Morris, Gary Adam and John Paterson, but the real battle here will be between John and Ross Marshall. Can the youngster in his 1600cc car whup the ol’ man with the bigger engine – again?
As ever there will be plenty of action all day but be careful out there.
