Condor Motor Sports Club opened up this new venue last February to rave reviews from those who contested the debut event with its good surfaces, long stages and no merges.
Hugh Brunton won the inaugural event six months ago in his Fiesta R5 and heads a quality entry this weekend with Drew Sturrock in the co-driver’s seat.
Barry Groundwater finished runner-up six months ago so he runs at number two this weekend with Michael Hendry in the Subaru. John Rintoul and Ross Hynd run at number three either in the MINI or the Fiesta with the fast improving Joe McKeand and Charlotte McDowall at four in the Subaru. John Morrison and Keir Beaton wheel out the Ford Fiesta R5 at number five while completing the top six are Andy and Karen Horne in the Darrian fresh from their third place on last weekend’s Mach1 Stages.
Pity we won’t be able to see it. This is a NON-SPECTATOR closed single venue event due to the nature of the site. Hopefully, with two successful events under its belt, the site commander might just be able to open things up a bit for next year.
The first car gets underway at 08.30 Hrs on Saturday morning on the first of six Special Stages which will total 52 miles of competitive tests during the day.
The service area will be fenced off and access will be restricted to the venue for the duration of the event, whilst photography and in car video are not permitted either – so don’t even try.
