FREE FORUM NIGHT AT THE JIM CLARK RALLY ….
For one night only, rally stars on stage …
One upon a time, Rally Forums provided a regular form of pre-rally entertainment, but it was Rothmans who popularised the idea in the 70s, with star names, lots of advertising support and their own brand of colourful promotional oomph.
However, the arrival of computers and the internet in the 80s, video tape recorders and mobile phones all helped to put paid to ‘live’ entertainment.
In a bid to try and resurrect the idea, the organisers of this year’s Jim Clark Rally will host a ‘Rally Forum’ in the Tait Hall in Kelso on Thursday evening the 30th May. Entrance is FREE.
Amongst the guests appearing on stage at this rally chat show will be top seeds Jukka Korhonen, Jonny Greer, Tom Cave, John MacCrone, and others – plus top local drivers Euan Thorburn and Garry Pearson. More guests are planned so look out for further news.
The evening’s entertainment will be hosted by that ‘heckuva nice big chap’ who hosts the annual Mull Rally Forum in Tobermory each October. In other words, if it’s sense and sensibility you want, stay at home, Mastermind it ain’t!
To get the evening off to a flying start, there will be an easy quiz with some unusual rules. Yes, there will be prizes, just don’t let your expectations run wild! In other words, the ‘flying tee-shirts’ will be seen over Kelso, not just Tobermory.
So if you want to hear what this year’s rally stars have to say, then pop along for an evening of light hearted banter, and who knows you might also get your own chance to ask some questions.
Entrance to the show is FREE and all are welcome, and because it’s a school night, it will be all over shortly after 9.00 pm!
The venue for this one-off show will be:
Tait Hall, Edenside Road, Kelso, TD5 7BS
Thursday evening, the 30th of May
Doors open 7.00 pm for show starting at 7.30 pm
For one night only – frivolous funtertainment with a motor sporting theme!
